![]() If people don’t like the game, they do have ‘improvements’ in d3 and d4. I don’t see an issue with just re-releasing d2. We have another ‘improvement’ coming in d4. I mean, the idea of d3 was to ‘improve’ d2 (isn’t that the goal of all sequels?) ‘Change’ and ‘improve’ don’t mean the same things. That said, a lot of players find these 'extra steps' tedious, so it's pretty natural to see these changes. ![]() This is obviously up for debate, but I myself feel that this dampens the sense of discovery with every layer. Loot Filters are a step further, where you don't even have to inspect drops anymore, but merely hear sounds or note that a coloured item spawns. One might argue that an element of the roleplaying is lost here. ![]() And it's basically the same effect as being able to just get loot in a typical RPG, rather than having to loot the corpses 1 by 1, or in D2 terms, area by area. Now I'm obviously going to use the toggle, and that's going to have some effect on me. Disregarding bosses and other specials, when I click on Alt, I have a chance to get some upgrade. Take the 'toggle loot' that we just got, fx: As a kid I actually felt some level of 'skillful' for checking loot at the right times. I don't really see myself as a purist, but one that can see the potential negative effect of changes, with slight QoL as a reward.
